Emotions can be overwhelming for all of us, children included. In a moment of anxiety or anger our brains’ limbic system takes over, we are unable to think with logic and reason. This process can make it very difficult to regulate how we are feeling and return our body and mind to a state of calm. These cards have been developed by a children’s counsellor to support children in such times of overwhelm.
Ideal for home or school environments, this set includes 24 prompt ideas for regulation and 10 cards that outline a mindfulness based practice. This is a gentle way to introduce meditation and mindful breathing exercises to children (or adults!).
We have also included instructions for use and a number of blank cards to provide children with an empowering space in which they can identify their own coping strategies too!
